LISTEN | DISCLOSURE - LATCH (SANI & ALEXI CHRISTAKIS REMIX)
Two young producers linked up for an emotional remix of the uber-popular Disclosure single “Latch.” Sani, 19 years old and from Denmark, combined heads with the 15 year old, Seattle local Alexi Christakis on this seriously fresh rendition of the instant classic. Their remix starts slow with the all familiar lyrics from the original and slightly distressed sub bass eventually building to an epic explosion of synthy goodness. Don’t sleep on these two up and comers, Alexi Christakis and Sani hope to continue their collaboration efforts in the future as well as continue to produce solo.

LISTEN | CHROMEO - JEALOUS (LENNO REMIX)
Hailing from Finland, the 19 year old producer that goes by the name, Lenno, has really been showing off his ability so far this summer. Already having released a really nice dub re-work of the summery tune “Happy” from Pharrell, now Lenno is back getting his name out even further with this new fire remix of the funk lords of Chromeo and their track “Jealous”.
Lenno says he has been a Chromeo fan from ages now and ever since the original tracks release, he has been pretty much obsessed with it so he wanted to make a version of his for himself, you know for his own sets. With an absolutely catchy chorus nobody can forget and I know we’ve all heard our fair share of the remixes. But THIS is one you just must hear, it goes right up there with the other top reworks for Chromeo. Lenno makes this song much more warm and vibey with his nice synth melodies. Even when making it more up-tempo, Lenno does a fantastic job keeping the original disco vibe very apparent.
Treat yourself to another fantastic summer jam thanks to the young & talented Lenno!

EVENT REVIEW | ZEDS DEAD - DALLAS, TX - JUNE 28, 2014
Electric Forest, two stops in Texas, an album release, and Canada Day. Zeds Dead had a pretty busy last week. We caught up with them right in the thick of it all on Saturday night (6/28) when the duo took the stage at the famous Lizard Lounge in Dallas, Texas.
We worked our way through the absolutely packed crowd to a little elevated spot in the back center for a primo viewing experience. The club recently added an LED wall roughly 20 feet in length which provided Zeds Dead with their full visual support usually reserved for festival appearances. Saturday night the LED wall brightly exposed the usually dimly lit club, engaging the audience with a full sensory experience.
Despite DC and Hooks‘ hectic schedule, the two have made it a mission to put the utmost energy into every set and they didn’t slouch in Dallas. Starting off their set with some classic dub, Zeds Dead kept the energy level high for their full set; a little less than two hours. They wasted little time to reach into their new Somewhere Else EP because by the second track “Hadouken” dropped and so did the crowd.
The Canadian bass duo continued to push out the hard hitting dubstep in the beginning of their set with tracks like Moody Good‘s “Hot Plate,” Chase & Status – “Machine Gun,” and Dog Blood – “Middle Finger pt. 2.” Early on Zeds Dead teased their popular “Ratchet” by dropping the acappella during Zomboy & MUST DIE! - “Survivors.” From there they transitioned to Krusha & Sleepy Tom‘s Jersey Club track “Jobless” and then into one of my favorite Zeds Dead remixes, “Lies.” The energy never faded as they went directly into the aggressive Never Say Die release from Habstrakt & Megalodon - “40 Cows.”
Roughly half way through their set, Zeds Dead slightly drifted from the heavier tracks into Nero‘s Summer release “Satisfy.” This set up a transition to a couple of bassline/garage style tracks like Skrillex - “F**k That” and my favorite song off the Somewhere Else EP, “Lost You.” While the crowd got lost in that dance floor killer, Zeds Dead slowly brought it back with the incredibly funky Astronomar remix of Neoteric & Wax Motif’s “Go Deep.”
On top of the current hits and brand new Zeds Dead material, throughout the night they mixed in classics consisting of the ‘dubbed out mix’ of “It’s Bigger Than Hip Hop,” Daft Punk‘s “Aerodynamic” and their own spin on The Prodigy‘s “Breathe.” Things sped up for a minute when they dropped Sigma‘s drum & bass take on Kanye West with “Nobody to Love” and a brief stint into a Camo & Krooked track. The highlight of the night came when Hooks stage dived during the drop of Skrillex, Kill The Noise, Milo & Otis’ remix of Duck Sauce – “NRG.”
Zeds Dead headed off stage a little after 3:30am before returning to encore their set with “Collapse.” Thanks to Disco Donnie and Full Access for letting us cover the event. Be sure to grab a copy of Zeds Dead’s Somewhere Else EP and catch them on the Mad Decent Block Party tour this Summer.

PREVIEW | PORTER ROBINSON - FLICKER
One of the most highly anticipated albums of the Summer is Porter Robinson‘s Worlds. On this album, we have come to expect a shift in style from Robinson’s hard hitting complextro to a more intelligent, less commercial form of dance music. “Flicker” is set to be track number four on Worlds and Porter dropped a snippet of what to expect in his most recent Essential Mix.
“Flicker” features a dreamy vocal accompaniment on top of an uplifting melody and funky guitar riffs. This new track fits well with the synth-pop style of his recent Worlds releases, “Sad Machine” and “Sea of Voices.” Worldshits stores on August 12th via Astralwerks.

LISTEN | LIDO - I LOVE YOU EP
Out today on Pelican Fly, I Love You EP from Lido is a 4-track release featuring 3 brand new songs and “Money” which premiered on Soundcloud last month. The EP starts off incredibly strong with the title track featuring male vocals and a mixture future sounds.
“I Love You” quickly switches from its future beats opening to a jazz-style breakdown to a footwork beat and then closing with a low-end transition into “I Love You pt. 2.” Part 2 takes on a more electro role comprised of quick bursting synths not present in the opening track. It then digresses into a slow-building breakdown featuring some bells, eventually returning to the electro-style, uptempo rhythm.
For the past month, Lido’s “Money” has been racking up Soundcloud plays. The third track of his new EP is highlighted by some voxed up vocals and a pounding beat around the 2:10 mark. I Love You EP concludes with a track featuring vocalist Muri, who we believe to be Bjørn Johan Muri, the same Norwegian artist Lido collabed with on “Once Upon A Time” in 2010. “Lost” is a high energy future beats tune providing the perfect end to Lido’s EP.
